WIREM
Please welcome the newest product to join our ThingM product line – the long awaited WireM! WireM is a connector kit for the BlinkM family of Smart LED products. It contains all parts needed to make multi-BlinkM strands controlled by LinkM or Arduino. No soldering is required, just put connectors in, plug into your BlinkM controller, and go! For more information on WireMs, see:
CHRYSALIS ENTERPRISE
We had some extra hands help us prepare and assemble our new batch of WireMs. Our friends from Chrysalis Enterprise, a local organization that creates transitional jobs for individuals who have the most difficulty finding them, helped us count, package, and organize our new inventory. We had a wonderful and productive day with our two helpers, to learn more please visit their website at:
NEW DISTRIBUTORS
We worked with Seeed Studio to create a carrier board that lets you connect any BlinkM product to their Grove hardware sketching/rapid prototyping system. Seeed is also our newest distributor, delivering BlinkMs locally in China and all over the world.
Inventables, the innovator’s hardware store who sells interesting and fun materials has just added ThingM products to it’s store. Please check them out at the link below!
METAL PORTAL 2 WEIGHTED COMPANION CUBE WITH BLINKM
Jamie Nasiatka used his CNC Mill to create an aluminum Weighted Companion Cube from the much beloved Portal 2 video game. It’s made from a solid chunk of aluminum and features a BlinkM MinM that pulses color from a custom light script.

MAKER FAIRE
ThingM will have another display booth at the annual 2011 Maker Faire. We will be located in the Maker Shed – please come on by, say hello, and take a look at our new products and see fun demo projects using our stuff! The event is always a fun time and is a crazy combination of technology, art, and science. For more event information please click below.
MEET OUR NEW DESIGN INTERN
ThingM is also proud to introduce our newest team member, Abraham, who will be our summer design intern. A current Art Center student majoring in Industrial Design, he will be working with us to create concepts for new consumer products. Stay tuned!
BABYM
We’re very excited to announce that Mike Kuniavsky, one of the founders of ThingM, became a first-time father with his wife, Elizabeth Goodman, a doctoral candidate at UC Berkeley. Their son, Enki Alexander, was born April 16th in San Francisco. Everyone is happy, healthy, and somewhat sleep-deprived.
